Storyline

"Seasoned musician Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) discovers-and falls in love with struggling artist Ally (Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But, even as Ally's career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons"

A Star is Born describes the heartbreaking tale of combining fame and love as singer Jackson Maine (played by Bradley Cooper) meets and discovers Ally (Lady Gaga), sending her on her difficult journey to success that will interrupt her relationship with Jackson especially when he begins to struggle with his own personal issues such as addiction and depression. A Star is Born will keep any audience on the edge of their seats and break their hearts while doing so. 

Would I Recommend?

A Star is Born is a very well-made movie that is amazingly written, directed and acted with some of the best songs (SHALLOW) of the decade also. The storyline feels repetitive and has already been done two times before, but the movie does somehow manage to modernize the story in a unique way that attempts to cover up the original storyline and reframe it but struggles to do it in the fullest capacity. The movie is very entertaining to watch and discusses some serious problems in the world such as addiction and conveys powerful messages on both that idea and on the subject of fame and love. Therefore, it is still a great movie that does its goal and delivers this classic story to a new generation. However, due to the general heartbreaking and emotional storyline, the movie is depressing and definitely not for people who don't like sad stories, therefore it is more of a situation that if you want to put yourself through it emotionally because it most likely will either make you cry or break your heart. But, due to the powerful storytelling, I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys music, romance movies or very well-crafted and mature movies with stellar acting as it is an amazing movie that knows what it is doing and what it's messages are and will be a big part of pop culture in this next generation.

Overall/Review 

Although a remake of a tradition and classic story, this movie adds a more modern and updated touch that captivates and interacts with your emotions. Following the story of Ally (Lady Gaga) and Jackson (Bradley Cooper), A Star is Born shows their love story combined with the distress of fame and struggles of depression and managing a relationship with growing careers. (The struggle of real life love stories). Bradley Cooper acts as Jackson Maine with an extreme amount of emotion personally and Lady Gaga acts with such confidence and somehow brings a new feel to the character despite Lady Gaga really playing herself. The beginning is definitely a brilliant and clever introduction to the story, however the movie lacks a centralized plot line and connectivity, causing moments to be overstretched and drag on. The middle drags on for a while and requires something to connect its plot to the beginning and end instead of repetition that it excessively used throughout the movie. But after the rougher middle part of the movie, the ending provides a big hit just like the beginning which really stabilizes the entire movie as it also shows the emotional capability of the movie and truly grabs the audience's heart only to express realism to it instead of the classic expected love story. This movie truly modernizes the Star is Barn tale and is an emotional rollercoaster yet so developed and distinguished from other love stories through the acting and directing to provide a more personal touch. Plus, that beautifully directed and written shallow scene at the beginning is one of the greatest, entertaining and inspiring things I've seen in a movie about a love story.
